Learning Inspiration: Monkey Color Flashcards

This is a fun rhyme and flashcard combo to help teach your children the basic colors. My graphic is from The Mailbox Magazine, but you could use any monkey picture you like. The rhyme is also adapted from an issue The Mailbox Magazine.

Color Monkeys
Ooh Aah, Ooh Aah, Eee Eee Eee
"Red" Monkey in the Coconut Tree

Ooh Aah, Ooh Aah, Eee Eee Eee
"Blue" Monkey in the Coconut Tree

Etc...

You can hold the monkeys and flip through the flashcards while saying the rhyme. You can also place them on the ground and have your child find the correct color monkey as you say the name. I added both velcro and magnets to the back of my monkeys so they can be used on a flannel board or magnetic surface.

We participate in these link parties.
